Why didn’t I receive an AMMA statement, and what should I use instead?

Written by Kayla

Not everyone receives an AMMA statement (AMIT Member Annual Statement, a tax document issued at the end of each financial year). Whether you receive one depends on whether a distribution was paid in your Spaceship Voyager portfolio and whether you held units on the right date.

What is an AMMA statement?

An AMMA statement is a tax document we issue if a Spaceship Voyager portfolio you hold paid a distribution (your share of the portfolio's income, such as dividends and interest) during the financial year. It sets out the income and any capital gains attributed to your account, and is used for tax reporting.

When you’ll receive one

You’ll receive an AMMA statement if both of the following apply:

  • You held units in a Spaceship Voyager portfolio on the distribution date, and

  • That portfolio paid a distribution during the financial year.

If neither of these applies to you, you won’t receive an AMMA statement.

Common reasons you might not receive one

  • No distribution was paid: If your portfolio didn’t pay a distribution during the year, we don't issue an AMMA statement. You'll still receive your annual statement.

  • You closed your account: If you closed your Spaceship Voyager account during the financial year, you'll receive an exit statement instead.

  • You didn’t hold units on the distribution date: If you withdrew your full balance before the distribution date, you're not entitled to a distribution and won't receive an AMMA statement. If your account is still open with a $0 balance, you'll still receive an annual statement.

What you can for tax reporting instead

  • Exit statement: If you closed your account during the year, your exit statement is your final record of transactions and can be used for tax reporting.

  • Annual statement: If no AMMA statement was issued, your annual statement lists all transactions for the financial year and can help you or your tax adviser identify any tax events.

How to find your statements

We send statements to the email address linked to your Spaceship account. If you can’t find yours, check your junk or spam folder. If it's still missing, get in touch and we'll resend it.
