Pattern day trading refers to a classification and regulatory rule that applies to individual traders in the US who execute a certain number of day trades within a specific time period.

An order may be rejected if the system identifies that the placement of that order could result in the account hitting the Pattern Day Trader limit. The system counts both placed orders and pending orders when assessing against the limit.
