We provide trade confirmations as well as monthly statements, which you can view within the Spaceship app. You will also be able to generate an account report containing information about your activity following the end of each financial year.
You can use the account report to help complete your tax return, whether you choose to do it yourself or seek assistance from an accountant or tax advisor.
What is the US Investing account report?
The account report contains information about your US Investing activity within a financial year (which starts on 1 July and ends the next year on 30 June).
The report will be in XLS (Excel) format.
The account report for the FY24 (1 July 2023 to 30 June 2024) financial year is available in the Spaceship app.
What information does the account report provide?
The account report will provide you with a summary of:
Your holdings as at the end of the financial year.
Completed buy and sell orders.
Dividends and income received.
Fees paid including monthly fees and trade-related fees (such as the FX Fee and regulatory sale fees).
Is the account report the same as a tax statement?
The account report isn't a tax statement. It's a summary of your activity in a financial year in relation to your account with Alpaca Securities LLC (Alpaca), which is accessed through the Spaceship US Investing Service. It contains information that can be used to assist you to complete your tax.
You will not receive a separate tax statement for the US Investing service.
This report is a summary only and should not replace any other documents that may be used for tax purposes.
How do I access the account report?
To access the account report, open the Spaceship mobile app:
- Tap on 'Stocks' or 'ETFs'.
- Tap the 'I want to…' button.
- Tap 'view statements'.
- Select the correct financial year.
- Tap 'Email report'.
The report will be emailed to the email address we have on file.
