Spaceship is currently rolling out multi-factor authentication (MFA) to all customers.

MFA is one of the most effective ways you can protect your important information and accounts against unauthorised access.

When you upgrade to MFA, you will be required to complete two security steps at key moments, such as when you sign in to your account.

Security steps can include:

  • Email and password;

  • SMS message;

  • WhatsApp message.

How do I set it up?

To set up MFA on your account, you will be prompted within the Spaceship mobile app. Please check for the prompt. This will be visible to you as we roll it out to customers.

You will be required to verify your mobile number to receive SMS or WhatsApp messages, so please make sure your mobile number is up to date. To check or change your mobile number, head to the 'Personal information' section in the mobile app.

What happens if I enter an incorrect code?

If you enter an incorrect code too many times and you get locked out of your account, you can retry again after an hour or contact our customer support team for help.

What happens if I change my mobile number?

If you'd like to change your mobile number, you will be required to verify your new mobile number using a one-time password sent via SMS text message. Once this verification is complete, you will be registered for MFA using your new mobile number.

I'm travelling overseas. Can I still access my account?

If you're travelling overseas, you will be able to use WhatsApp as a verification option. However, you must have access to your verified mobile number via WhatsApp.
