There are different steps that you will need to take depending on the different products you hold within your Spaceship account. Please note that you need to follow the respective steps for each product or service you use.
Uninstalling the app will not close your account, nor will it cancel any pending or scheduled transactions set up via any investment plan you have.
In regards to deleting your data, Australian laws oblige financial services companies like Spaceship to maintain account and transaction information for prescribed periods to meet regulatory and tax requirements. This means we are unable to delete all your personal information when you close your account.
Rest assured, Spaceship will manage all information you provide us following our Privacy Policy.
If you have Spaceship Voyager
You can close your portfolio/account via the mobile app by heading to the 'Account' tab then selecting 'Close portfolio'. You will need to be running the most up to date version of the app for this option to be visible to you.
Any outstanding balance will usually be paid into your Spaceship account within five business days of receiving your request.
These funds will not be automatically sent to your bank account. Once the funds show up as “available money” in the Spaceship, you can request we transfer them to your bank account.

If you have Spaceship Super
If you do not currently have a balance with Spaceship Super, you can close your account by contacting us via email at help@spaceship.com.au, via in-app chat, or by calling 1300 049 532 between 8.30am and 5.30pm (Sydney time) on any business day.
For customers who hold a balance with Spaceship Super, you can instead transfer the full balance of your super to another super fund, which will automatically close your account. This is done by requesting an electronic rollover at your nominated super fund or completing the Rollover Initiation Request Form.
If you have US Investing
If you no longer wish to hold US securities with us, you can place a sell order at any time. If you no longer wish to use the US Investing service, you will need to contact customer support to close your US Investing account via email at help@spaceship.com.au, via in-app chat, or by calling 1300 049 532 between 8.30am and 5.30pm (Sydney time) on any business day.
